Honeymoon in Sikkim

Do-Dhrul Chorten: This is a Stupa that was built by the head of Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism in 1945. The Stupa has a complete store of Holy Books, Mandala sets of Dorjee Phurba and various other religious objects. Do-Dhrul Chorten also has a stupa nearby with 10 Mani-Lhakor (Prayer Wheels), which are turned by Buddhists during prayer to evoke Buddhistava.
Enchey Monastery: A significant place of the Nyingma order, this Monastery also known as Solitary temple, was initially built with the succor that no other edifice would be permissible near it as this is built on the location that was sanctified by Lama Druptob Karpo, a tantric master famous for having flying powers. This 200-year-old Monastery has images of god, goddesses and other spiritual objects. Every year in January, 'Chaam' or holy masked dance is performed with immense trumpet blast for two days.
Saramsa Garden: Situated 14 kms from Gangtok, this garden is the home to some of the most beautiful looking orchids of Sikkim. Also having rare tropical plants, this is the ideal spot for newly married couple to feel each other's closeness.
Tsomgo Lake: Tsomgo Lake is away at a distance of only 40 kms from Gangtok town and located at an altitude of 12,210 ft. The travel distance from Gangtok takes about 2 and half hours by bus. It is bout 1 km. long and oval in shape with a depth of 50ft. Tsomgo Lake is known to be Holy and is also the home of Brahmini ducks besides a halt for various migratory ducks.
Flower Show: This Flower Show takes place in White Memorial Hall, which is located below Palace Ridge Park. In it, the couple can take pleasure in watching some of the most beautifully looking flower species that is enough to sensitize the lovely attitude of honeymoon.
Handloom and Handicraft Center: This center was initiated during the Chogyals of Sikkim to propagate the art and craft of local artisans and bringing out the beauty of the Sikkim's handicrafts, furniture and various other art forms. It is now known as the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, along with Government Institute of Cottage Industries.
Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center: Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre is known to be the seat of the Kagyu order, one of the 4 major Tibetan Buddhist sects. It is located at a distance of 45 minutes drive from Gangtok. Right from late 1960s, after the arrival of "His Holiness" the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, it boasts off the collection of world's most exclusive religious scriptures and piously rare objects. Being conventional in design, it is almost an imitation of the original Kagyurpa Monastery in Tsurphu town of Tibet.
Tashi View Point: Constructed by the late King of Sikkim Sir. Tashi Namgyal, it is located 4 km from Gangtok town and it offers a clear view of surrounding hills, besides Mt. Khangchendzonga. This location provides a magnificent landscape of the splendid Mt. Khangchendzonga and adjacent hills. Tashi View Point is the ideal spot for newly married couple to enjoy the essence of its scenic beauty by sitting on a bench with hands held together.
Pemayangtse Monastery: It is one of the oldest monasteries built in the State by Lhatsun Chempo, one of the respected Lamas to have carried out the sanctification ceremony of the first Chogyal (Religious Monarch) of Sikkim. This olden monastery belongs to the Nyingma Buddhism and is delegated with the task to perform all religious gathering of the former emperor. The Monastery is situated at a hill top with an altitude of 6840 ft. offering panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the country-side.
Khecheopalri Lake: Khecheopalri Lake is known to be one of the consecrated lakes of Sikkim, together by the Buddhist and the Hindus. It remains veiled in the rich forest cover and is believed that birds do not allow even a lone leaf to hover on the lake surface.
Yuksam: it is known to be the first capital of Sikkim, where its first emperor from Chogyal dynasty was sanctified by 3 lamas in 1641 AD.
Tashiding Monastery: This sacred "Mathh" is located at the backdrop of Mt. Khangchendzonga. Built in 18th century AD by Ngadak Sempa Chempo, it is believed to be the place Guru Rimpoche blessed the state of Sikkim in 8th century AD. Tashiding is also well-known for the most divine Chorten known as 'Thong-Wa-Rang-Dol' which factually means 'Saviors by mere sight'. It is supposed that the mere task of beholding it is thought to ward off all the sins of the devotee.
Soreng: This is the picturesque landscape located 3 kms from Pelling and 4 kms from Melli. In fact, a trek towards Jhandi Danra would introduce the newly married couple to a mesmerizing collection of flora and fauna.
Phensang Monastery: Located on the smooth slope from Kabi to Phodong, this monastery was built in 1721 at the time of Jigme Pawo under the Nyingmapa Buddhist order. Besides his classy architecture, the trek provides exotic views of the mountain ranges that would definitely make the couple feel elated. The annual festival of Chaam is carried out on the 29th day of the tenth month as per Lunar calendar.
Singhik: It is one of the most picturesque view points that provide excellent views of Mt. Khangchendzonga. Along with taking pleasure with walking hand-in-hand, the couple can also enjoy the exotic view of Mt. Siniolchu.
Lachung : Lachung has come out as a vacationer place with the towering recognition of Yumthang Valley which is just 25 kms from Lachung. Temi Tea Garden: The only tea garden present in the State produces top quality tea in the global market.
